๐ฅฃ 1 Small heat-proof bowl (Ceramic or metal only)

๐น 1 Spatula & 1 Set of tongs

๐ THE INGREDIENTS
The Sizzling Chili Oil
๐บ Cooking Oil 2 tablespoons (Neutral oil like Avocado or Vegetable)
๐ง Garlic 1 teaspoon (finely minced)
๐ถ๏ธ Chili flakes 1 teaspoon
โช Sesame seeds 1 teaspoon
๐ฑ Green onion 1 tablespoon (chopped)
๐ฟ Fresh Cilantro 1 tablespoon (chopped)
๐ถ Soy sauce 1 tablespoon
๐ท Rice vinegar 1 teaspoon
The Dumplings
๐ฅ Dumplings 12 pieces (Frozen or fresh)
๐ง Water 1/4 cup
๐จโ๐ณ THE METHOD
1. The Aromatics & Hot Oil (0โ5 Mins)
๐ฅฃ Prep Bowl: Place the Chili flakes, Sesame seeds, Green onion, Garlic, and Cilantro into your Heat-proof bowl.
๐ฅ Heat Oil: Add the Cooking Oil to the Frying pan over High heat for 2 Minutes until it is shimmering and slightly smoking.
โ ๏ธ The Sizzle: Carefully pour the hot oil from the pan directly over the spices in the bowl. It will bubble and smell toasted.
๐ถ Season: Stir in the Soy sauce and Rice vinegar. Set aside.
2. The Crispy Sear (5โ8 Mins)
๐ณ Reset Pan: Place the empty (but oily) pan back on the stove over Medium heat.
๐ฅ Brown: Place the Dumplings flat-side down. Cook for 2 Minutes undisturbed until the bottoms are dark golden brown and crunchy.
3. The Steam Finish (8โ15 Mins)
๐ง Deglaze: Pour the Water into the pan around the dumplings (it will hiss and steam immediately).
๐ฅ Seal: Quickly snap the Lid onto the pan to trap the steam.
โฒ๏ธ Cook: Steam for 5 Minutes until the water has mostly evaporated and the dumpling skins are translucent.
๐ฅข Toss: Use your Spatula to transfer the dumplings into the Heat-proof bowl. Toss gently until every dumpling is coated in the garlic-chili oil. ๐ Turn the stove Off.
๐ก๏ธ SAFETY FIRST
๐ฅ Heat-Proof Only: Ensure your bowl is ceramic, glass, or metal. Plastic bowls can melt or crack when hit with 180ยฐC oil.
๐จ Steam Direction: When lifting the lid, always tilt the "high side" away from you first. This directs the 100ยฐC steam cloud toward the back of the stove rather than your face.
๐ณ Handle Safety: While searing and steaming, ensure the pan handle is turned inward (away from the edge of the stove) so it isn't accidentally bumped or grabbed by a sleeve.
