๐ฅ 1 Large stirring spoon
๐ด 1 Potato masher or large fork
๐งค 1 Oven mitt
๐ THE INGREDIENTS
The Meat & Marinade
๐ฅฉ Halal Lamb Chops 4 to 6 pieces
๐ฆ Yogurt 1/2 cup (Plain and unsweetened)
๐ง Garlic-Ginger Paste 1 tablespoon
๐ถ Light Soy Sauce 1 tablespoon (Halal-certified)
๐ Lemon Juice 1 tablespoon
๐บ Cooking Oil 1 tablespoon
๐ง Salt 1 small pinch
๐ก Turmeric & Garam Masala 1/2 teaspoon each
๐ถ๏ธ Chili & Cumin Powder 1/2 teaspoon each
๐ง Garlic Powder 1/2 teaspoon
The Potatoes & Greens
๐ฅ Potatoes 4 large (peeled and cut into cubes)
๐ง Butter 2 tablespoons (Halal-certified)
๐ฅ Cream or Milk 1/4 cup
๐ง Salt & Pepper 1 small pinch each
๐ฅฌ Green Vegetables 2 cups (like Spinach or Bok Choy)
The Sauce (Chimichurri)
๐ฟ Parsley & Cilantro 1/2 cup (chopped very small)
๐ง Garlic 2 cloves (minced)
๐บ Olive Oil 3 tablespoons
๐ถ๏ธ Chili Paste or Oil 1 teaspoon
๐จโ๐ณ THE METHOD
๐ฅฃ Put the Yogurt, Garlic-Ginger Paste, Soy Sauce, Lemon Juice, Oil, and all Spices into a Large bowl.
๐ฅฉ Put the Halal Lamb Chops into the bowl and stir until the meat is fully covered in the sauce.
โ๏ธ Cover the bowl and put it in the fridge to rest Overnight (or for at least 4 hours).
๐ฅ Put the Potatoes in a Large pot with water and boil on the stove for 15 Minutes until soft.
๐ฅ Drain the water. Use the Potato masher to squish the potatoes with the Butter, Cream, Salt, and Garlic Powder until smooth.
๐ฅ Put your Frying pan on the stove and turn the heat to High.
๐ฅฉ Use your Oven mitt to hold the pan and place the Halal Lamb Chops inside.
โฒ๏ธ Cook the meat for 3 Minutes on the first side until it looks dark and charred.
๐งค Flip the meat over and cook the other side for 3 Minutes. The inside should stay slightly pink.
๐ฅฃ While the meat cooks, mix the Parsley, Cilantro, Garlic, Chili Paste, and Olive Oil in a Small bowl to make the sauce.
๐ฅฌ Remove the meat from the pan. Put the Green Vegetables, Garlic, and a little Butter into the same hot pan.
๐ฅ Stir the greens for 2 Minutes until they look soft and wilted.
๐ Turn the stove dial to the Off position.
๐ก๏ธ SAFETY FIRST
๐ฅฉ Sizzling Oil: When you put the marinated meat into the hot pan, it will pop and sizzle. Stand back and use long tongs or a long spoon to move the meat.
๐งค Hot Pan Handle: The pan will get very hot quickly. Always wear an Oven mitt when touching the handle to prevent burns.
๐ช Slippery Greens: When chopping the herbs for the sauce, keep your fingers tucked away from the Knife blade. Use a slow, rocking motion.
