🛠️ THE KIT

  • 🥘 1 Extra large pot

  • 🥄 1 Large stirring spoon

  • 🧤 1 Oven mitt

  • 🔪 1 Large knife

  • 🥣 1 Medium bowl (to hold extra meat fat)


🛒 THE INGREDIENTS

  • 🥩 Halal Ground beef 500 grams (Ground chuck)

  • 🌭 Halal Beef sausage 500 grams (Take meat out of the skins)

  • 🧅 Onion 1 large (chopped small)

  • 🧪 Celery 2 stalks (chopped small)

  • 🌶️ Jalapeños 2 small (seeds removed and chopped)

  • 🌿 Oregano, Cumin, Paprika 1 tablespoon each

  • 🌶️ Cayenne pepper 1 small pinch

  • 🧂 Salt, Pepper, and Sugar 1 pinch each

  • 🥫 Tomato paste 2 tablespoons

  • 🥤 Non-alcoholic malt beverage 1 can (Halal substitute for beer)

  • 🍅 Canned tomatoes 2 large cans (crushed)

  • 🫘 Chili beans 2 cans (do not drain them)

  • 🍗 Chicken bouillon 1 tablespoon (powder or 1 cube)

  • 🥓 Halal Beef bacon bits 1 small bag (for the top)

  • 🍟 Corn chips 1 bag (for serving)

  • 🥛 Sour cream 1 small tub


👨‍🍳 THE METHOD

  1. 🔪 Use your Knife and Cutting board to chop the Onion, Celery, and Jalapeños into very small pieces.

  2. 🔥 Put your Extra large pot on the stove and turn the heat to Medium-High.

  3. 🥩 Put the Halal Ground beef and Halal Beef sausage into the pot. Stir for 8 Minutes until the meat is brown.

  4. 🧤 Use your Oven mitt to hold the pot. Carefully spoon the extra oily liquid (fat) into your Medium bowl and throw it away.

  5. 🧅 Add the Onion, Celery, and Jalapeños to the pot with the meat. Stir for 5 Minutes.

  6. 🌿 Sprinkle the Oregano, Cumin, Paprika, Cayenne pepper, Salt, Pepper, and Sugar over the meat. Stir for 1 Minute so the spices get toasted.

  7. 🥫 Add the Tomato paste and stir it into the meat for 2 Minutes.

  8. 🥤 Pour in the Non-alcoholic malt beverage. Use your Large stirring spoon to scrape the tasty brown bits off the bottom of the pot.

  9. 🍅 Add the Canned tomatoes, Chili beans, and Chicken bouillon. Stir everything together.

  10. 🫧 Wait for the liquid to start bubbling, then turn the heat down to Low.

  11. ⏳ Put a lid on the pot. Let it cook gently for 2 Hours.

  12. 🛑 Turn the stove dial to the Off position.

  13. 🥣 Scoop the chili into bowls. Top with Halal Beef bacon bits, Sour cream, and Corn chips.


🛡️ SAFETY FIRST

  • 🔥 Hot Metal: The pot will stay very hot for a long time. Always use your Oven mitt when touching the handles.

  • 🌶️ Spicy Hands: After chopping the Jalapeños, wash your hands with soap immediately. Do not touch your eyes!

  • 💨 Steam Shield: When you lift the lid after 2 hours, lift the back of the lid first so the hot steam flows away from your face.
