π MINI MUFFIN PIZZAS π
A high-calcium, easy-grip lunch. Soft, cheesy, and toddler-approved.
π οΈ THE KIT
π 1 Toaster oven (or standard oven)
π₯§ 1 Small baking sheet
π₯ 1 Small spoon (for spreading)
πͺ 1 Pizza cutter (or sharp knife)
π₯£ 1 Small bowl (for the berry side)
π THE INGREDIENTS
π Whole Wheat English Muffin 1 piece (Halal-certified)
π Tomato Sauce 2 tablespoons (Low-sodium; no added sugar)
π§ Shredded Mozzarella 1/4 cup (Fresh or low-moisture)
πΏ Dried Oregano 1 tiny pinch (for flavor)
π Strawberries & Blueberries 1/2 cup (Fresh)
πΊ Extra Virgin Olive Oil 1 tiny drop (to drizzle on the sauce)
π¨βπ³ THE METHOD
1. The Pizza Assembly (0β5 Mins)
π₯ Preheat: Set your Toaster oven to 190Β°C (375Β°F).
π Split: Fork-split the English Muffin into two halves.
π₯ Sauce & Oil: Spread a thin layer of Tomato Sauce on each half. Add a tiny drop of Olive Oil to the sauce; this helps the toddler absorb the Lycopene (a powerful antioxidant) in the tomatoes.
π§ Top: Sprinkle the Mozzarella and Oregano evenly over the sauce.
2. The Melt & Crisp (5β12 Mins)
β²οΈ Bake: Place in the toaster oven for 5β7 Minutes until the cheese is bubbly and just starting to turn golden.
π The "Soft-Set" Cool: Let the pizzas sit for at least 3 minutes. Melted cheese can be dangerously hot and "stringy," which can be a gagging risk if it's too stretchy while hot.
3. The Berry Prep (5β12 Mins)
π Safety Cut: CRITICAL: Slice Strawberries into thin vertical slivers. If Blueberries are large/firm, flatten them slightly with the back of a spoon or slice them in half to remove the round choking hazard.
π‘οΈ PEDIATRIC SAFETY FIRST
π The "Safety Strip" Cut: Instead of serving the muffin as a round circle (which can be hard for small mouths to bite into), use your Pizza cutter to slice each half into 3 vertical strips. This allows the toddler to take manageable, "side-of-the-mouth" bites.
π¦· Crust Control: If the edges of the English muffin become too crunchy or "toasted" for your toddler's gums, simply trim the outer rim off with a knife before serving.
π Acid Check: Tomato sauce is acidic. If your toddler is prone to diaper rash or has a sensitive stomach, stir a teaspoon of the Avocado Mash into the tomato sauce before spreadingβthis "creamy tomato" version is more alkaline and gentler on the gut.
