🥑 OMEGA-BOOST AVOCADO & BANANA STRIPS 🥑
A nutrient-dense, high-fat breakfast designed for brain health and easy self-feeding.
🛠️ THE KIT
🍞 1 Toaster
🥣 1 Small bowl (for mashing)
🍴 1 Fork
🛹 1 Cutting board & Knife
🍽️ 1 Shallow plate (for rolling)
🛒 THE INGREDIENTS
🍞 Sprouted Grain Bread 1 slice (Alkaline-friendly/Halal)
🥑 Ripe Avocado 1/2 piece
🍌 Banana 1/2 piece
🌾 Ground Flaxseed 1 tablespoon (Ensure it is "milled" or "ground" for nutrient absorption)
🍋 Lemon Juice 1 tiny squeeze (to prevent browning and add Vitamin C)
👨🍳 THE METHOD
1. The Avocado Spread (0–5 Mins)
🍞 Toast: Lightly toast the Sprouted Bread until it is firm but not hard/crunchy. Hard toast can scrape a toddler's sensitive palate.
🥑 Mash: In your Small bowl, mash the Avocado with the Lemon juice until mostly smooth.
🥄 Apply: Spread a thin, even layer of avocado over the toast.
🔪 Strip-Cut: Use your Knife to cut the toast into "fingers" (vertical strips about 2cm wide). This shape is the safest for toddlers to grip and bite.
2. The Flax-Rolled Banana (5–7 Mins)
🍌 Slice: Cut the Banana into long, thin wedges or spears.
🌾 Coat: Place the Ground Flaxseed on a shallow plate. Roll the banana spears in the flaxseed until they are lightly coated.
Nutritional Tip: Rolling the slippery banana in flaxseed provides a "grip" texture, making it much easier for the toddler to hold without it sliding out of their hands.
✨ Dust: Sprinkle any remaining flaxseed over the avocado toast strips for extra fiber.
🛡️ PEDIATRIC SAFETY FIRST
💩 Digestive Note: Flaxseed is a powerful source of fiber and acts as a natural lubricant for the digestive system. To avoid loose stools, limit flaxseed to one meal per day. If your toddler is already experiencing digestive sensitivity, reduce the amount to a small pinch.
🍞 Crust Control: For younger toddlers (12–15 months), slice the crusts off the toast before serving. The crust can sometimes be too chewy or sharp for those with fewer teeth.
🥑 Slippery Surface: Avocado and banana are both "high-slip" foods. Always supervise your toddler closely to ensure they are taking manageable bites and not trying to swallow long strips whole.
