AVOCADO TOAST

🥑 "BRAIN-BOOST" AVOCADO TOAST 🥑

A high-fat, high-fiber lunch designed for steady energy and motor skill development.

🛠️ THE KIT

  • 🍞 1 Toaster

  • 🥣 1 Small bowl (for mashing)

  • 🍴 1 Fork

  • 🌊 1 Wavy/Crinkle cutter (optional, for the cucumbers)

  • 🔪 1 Small paring knife

🛒 THE INGREDIENTS

  • 🍞 Sprouted Grain Bread 1 slice (Alkaline-friendly)

  • 🥑 Ripe Avocado 1/2 piece

  • 🍅 Grape Tomatoes 3–4 pieces

  • 🥒 Mini Cucumber 1/2 piece

  • 🍋 Lemon Juice 1 tiny squeeze (to preserve color and add Vitamin C)

  • 🧂 Seasoning: A tiny pinch of Hemp Seeds or Nutritional Yeast (instead of salt for a savory alkaline boost)

👨‍🍳 THE METHOD

1. The Creamy Base (0–5 Mins)

  1. 🍞 Toast: Lightly toast the Sprouted Bread. It should be firm enough to hold the weight of the avocado but not so hard that it becomes "scratchy" or sharp.

  2. 🥑 Mash: In your Small bowl, mash the Avocado with the Lemon Juice.

  3. 🥄 Apply: Spread a thick layer onto the toast. Pediatric Tip: For picky eaters, try mashing the avocado until completely smooth to avoid "chunk" rejection.

  4. 🔪 The Strip Cut: Slice the toast into vertical strips (about 2cm wide). This "finger" shape is much easier for a toddler to grip than a standard triangle.

2. The Fresh Sides (5–8 Mins)

  1. 🍅 The Tomato Safety Cut: CRITICAL: Slice each Grape Tomato vertically into quarters (long slivers). Never serve whole or "coin-cut" round tomatoes to a toddler.

  2. 🥒 The Cucumber Spears: Peel the Mini Cucumber (skins can be tough to chew) and cut into long, thin spears or use a Wavy cutter to create ridges for a better grip.

🛡️ PEDIATRIC SAFETY FIRST

  • 🍅 Choking Hazard: Grape tomatoes are a high-risk food due to their size and slippery skin. Always quarter them lengthwise to bypass the airway safely.

  • 👅 The "Exposure" Principle: If your toddler has rejected tomatoes or cucumbers in the past, try the "Side-by-Side" method. Place one piece on their plate without pressure. Sometimes "touching" the food or seeing it repeatedly is the first step toward eating it!

  • 🧂 Sodium Guardrail: For children under 2, replace salt with Dried Oregano or Cumin. It provides "grown-up" flavor without taxing their developing kidneys.
